In the summer semester 2011 (01.04.-31.09.2011) I will give the course "Introduction to Corpus Linguistics" at the University of Bielefeld. Additional information can be found on my Lecturing page or in the electronic lecture directory of the University of Bielefeld.

Job in the SiN Project

26. July 2010

From the 1st of September 2010 on I will work as scientific assistant in the subproject 3 of the DFG project Sprachvariation in Norddeutschland (Speech Variation in Northern Germany). It promises to become an exciting new activity in which I will be able to integrate my text technological as well as my corpus linguistic knowledge, and where I can gain experiences about the research in speech variation and dialectology.

Back in Bielefeld

13. April 2010

It had to happen eventually... Everyday life in Bielefeld starts to set in again. After 7 months in Dublin being back in Germany is kind of an odd feeling, but I will get used to it like I got used to the dirty, noisy, and wonderful Dublin some time ago. There not much time left for relaxing. Some assignments for Trinity have to be done, the Master's Thesis is waiting impatiently, and the FM3 Tutorial will start soon. Certainly there will not be any boredom.

2nd semester at Trinity

24. January 2010

A week ago the 2nd semester for me at Trinity College started. Some interesting lectures wait for me now. Especially those held by Dr Vogel seem to be promising with regard to my Masters Thesis. Among other topics it will be dealt with unification grammars, i.e. exactly the main topic of my thesis. Besides I will try to use the remaining time here in Dublin to polish my language skills and have another look or two at Dublin and Ireland in general.

New job at Zerogrey

26. November 2009

Finally I found a good part-time job in Dublin. In Ireland it does not seem there exist jobs like student assistants, so I will start to work as eCommerce Optimisation Specialist at Zerogrey. There I will be able to prove my programming and webdesign skills as well as improve my English language skills and have a glance at business in real (virtual) world.

Start of semester at Trinity

23. September 2009

Now the semester at Trinity College officially started. I am really excited and cannot wait to see what it is like here. Everyone wanting to read more about my experiences in Dublin should have a look at http://daniel.indublin.de.

Today I started to update the website. I hope that it will become a little more structured. If you should have any queries or requests, please do not hesitate to contact me.
